چکیده
In this study, blends of the bio-based poly(limonene carbonate) (PLimC) with different commodity polymers are investigated in order to explore potential PLimC toward generating more sustainable polymer materials by reducing amount petro- or food-based polymers. is employed as minority component blends. Next morphology and thermal properties impact on mechanical matrix studied. The interplay incompatibility zero-shear melt viscosity contrast determines blend morphology, leading for all a dispersed droplet PLimC. Blends similar structure (i.e., aliphatic/aromatic polyester) show best performance respect properties, whereas polystyrene poly(methyl methacrylate) too brittle polyamide 12 very low elongations at break. Ecoflex (poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate)) Arnitel EM400 (copoly(ether ester)) poly(butylene terephthalate) hard polytetrahydrofuran soft segments) threefold increase E-modulus can be achieved, while keeping elongation break reasonable high values ≈200%, making these highly interesting applications.

Cellulosic Polymer Blends 1: With Vinyl Polymers
This chapter reviews recent studies on blends of conventional cellulose esters (CEs), such as cellulose acetate (CA), cellulose propionate (CP), and cellulose butyrate (CB), with non-crystalline vinyl (co)polymers mainly comprising the N-vinyl pyrrolidone (VP) unit. The mixing behavior of the CE/VP-containing copolymer blends is seriously affected by the chain length (i.e., carbon number) and d...
متن کاملFrom Commodity Polymers to Functional Polymers
Functional polymers bear specified chemical groups, and have specified physical, chemical, biological, pharmacological, or other uses. To adjust the properties while keeping material usage low, a method for direct synthesis of functional polymers is indispensable. Here we show that various functional polymers can be synthesized by in situ cross-linked polymerization/copolymerization. We demonst...
متن کاملPolymers with Multiple Hydrogen-Bonded End Groups and Their Blends
A new strategy for synthesizing well-defined, chain-end-functionalized polymers containing multiple hydrogen-bonding (MHB) groups capable of heterodimerization in both solution and the melt has been developed. Two complementary MHB systems were chosen for initial studies: 2-ureido-4[1H]-pyrimidinone (UPy) and 2,7diamido-1,8-naphthyridine (Napy) and ATRP initiators containing either UPy or Napy ...
